    Abstract:

A novel current sensorless drive system with only position sensor for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drove in order to reduce costs and avoid problems caused by faults of the current sensor was proposed. Generally, a PMSM drive controller needs at least two phasecurrent sensors, the current sensors was omitted by replacing estimated stator current with extended Kalman filter. A simulation study was performed in order to compare performances with and without current sensor, it showed that the control had almost the same performance and ability as the conventional control.
